The Metroguard is the reason that Metrosigns
started getting involved with sheet metal fabrication. 25
or so years ago we made a sign for a local client which
lasted one night thanks to vandalism, we were then asked
to provide something a little more robust.
We devised a steel layered system where
the sign sat inside protected by a perspex window. The original
Metroguards were bulky, heavy and rusted after a few years.
We then started having treatments to the metals but this
worked out costly, when we looked at production, we found
that for the same price as treated metals we could offer
the product made out of stainless steel.
These days the majority are made from
grade 304, 16 gauge stainless steel, with a high impact
thermoplastic window. The design is sleek at only 30mm in
depth and the 35mm border does not detract from the internal
sign.
The product can be left in its own brushed
mill finish or more often than not is powder coated and
stove enamelled in one of a range of colours.
We can also offer posts for the Metroguard (for vertical
viewing) or a lectern (30 degree viewing) Post structure
offering extra security with hidden fixings. These are also
made from stainless steel box section with a powder coat
and stove enamelled finish, alternatively fixing holes can
be put in the Metroguard to suit our clients own posts.
The internal sign, interpretation or information
panel can be screen or digitally printed for which we also
offer a design and manufacture service if required.
